Regular daily inspection and maintenance is the core link to prolong the service life of cartridge heaters and avoid sudden equipment shutdown failure in daily industrial workshop operation. Formulating unified and standardized inspection standards can help production management personnel accurately grasp the real working state of heating components in advance, arrange targeted replacement and maintenance during planned downtime, and avoid accidental production halt and economic loss caused by sudden heater burnout and electric leakage fault. Visual appearance inspection is the first basic step of daily inspection, which needs to carefully check the sheath surface for rust spots, pitting corrosion, deformation cracks and overheating discoloration marks caused by long-term high-temperature operation.

Lead wire inspection is another key inspection item, focusing on the surface insulation integrity of high-temperature wires. Inspectors need to check whether there is aging hardening, surface cracking, high-temperature melting damage and excessive oxidation blackening at the wiring connection terminals. Loose wiring contact will generate extra high temperature at the connection point under working state, accelerating lead wire aging and even bringing hidden fire risk and electric leakage danger. Installation state inspection is required to verify the fitting tightness between cartridge heater and mold hole wall, check whether there is loose insertion, offset displacement and accumulated oil dirt and oxide scale inside the installation holes that hinder normal heat conduction efficiency.

Electrical performance regular detection must be carried out with professional testing instruments, including insulation resistance value and leakage current testing. Under normal working conditions, the insulation resistance value of qualified cartridge heaters should stay above 30MΩ and the leakage current should be controlled below 0.5MA, which indicates the internal insulation structure is intact and safe. Once the detection indicators drop beyond the standard range, timely replacement must be arranged immediately to prevent electric leakage, circuit breakdown and equipment damage accidents under continuous high-temperature operation. Working temperature stability observation needs to record the heating speed and constant temperature maintenance effect, taking slow temperature rise and obvious temperature fluctuation as early warning signs of component aging and internal structure damage.

Unified inspection cycle and complete record filing can standardize workshop equipment management system. Recording inspection date, installation position of components, electrical performance indicator data and abnormal phenomenon can form a complete equipment health file, facilitating service life prediction and batch replacement plan arrangement. Strictly implementing standardized daily inspection norms can effectively eliminate potential safety hazards, reduce unplanned downtime frequency, lower overall equipment maintenance cost and keep the heating system of production line operating stably and efficiently for a long time.
