The outer sheath material directly determines the high temperature resistance, corrosion resistance, service life and applicable environment of cartridge heaters. Different working temperatures, heating media and working environments correspond to different sheath materials. Blind selection of materials will lead to rapid rust, corrosion, burst, burnout and serious safety accidents.

201 stainless steel sheath: low price, ordinary high temperature resistance, suitable for normal dry burning room temperature mold heating. Poor corrosion resistance, easy to rust in humid and oily environments, not suitable for high temperature above 300℃, short service life in harsh working conditions.

304 stainless steel sheath: universal conventional material, good oxidation resistance, stable performance, long service life. Resist continuous high temperature below 450℃, adapt to most injection molds, dry burning heating, ordinary oil and air environments. Cost-effective, widely used in conventional industrial heating.

316L stainless steel sheath: excellent corrosion resistance, acid and alkali resistance, high temperature stability. Suitable for humid environments, oil heating, weak corrosive media, high temperature below 500℃. It has obvious advantages in food machinery, chemical heating and long-term damp working conditions.

Incoloy alloy sheath: ultra-high temperature resistant special material, can withstand long-term high temperature above 800℃. Strong oxidation resistance, high thermal strength, no deformation and no aging under extreme high temperature. Used for die casting, ultra-high temperature molds, deep hole high-load heating and harsh high-temperature working conditions.

Copper sheath: excellent thermal conductivity, fast temperature rise, uniform heat conduction. Suitable for precision molds requiring fast heat transfer and low temperature difference. Poor high temperature and corrosion resistance, easy oxidation, only used for low and medium temperature precision heating scenes.

The selection of sheath materials must comprehensively consider working temperature, medium corrosion, humidity, vibration and heat dissipation conditions. High temperature must choose alloy materials, corrosive environments choose 316 stainless steel, conventional molds choose 304 stainless steel. Reasonable material matching avoids frequent damage, reduces replacement frequency and improves overall heating safety.
