How to Choose the Right 700℃ Cartridge Heater to Avoid Quality Risks

In industrial production, many enterprises have encountered such troubles: after purchasing a 700℃ cartridge heater, it can only be used for a short time before failing, either the heating effect is unstable, or the heater is burned out directly, which not only increases the cost of replacement and maintenance, but also affects the normal progress of production. The root cause of these problems is mostly the improper selection of 700℃ cartridge heater. Many purchasers only pay attention to the price and ignore the key indicators and quality standards of the product, resulting in buying products that do not meet the actual needs. In fact, choosing a suitable 700℃ cartridge heater requires comprehensive consideration of multiple factors, and there are clear standards to follow.

First of all, the material of the shell is a key factor determining the high-temperature resistance of the 700℃ cartridge heater. According to experience, not all stainless steel materials can withstand 700℃ high temperature for a long time. Ordinary 304 stainless steel has a maximum operating temperature of only 550℃, and using it to make the shell of 700℃ cartridge heater will inevitably lead to deformation and oxidation after long-term use. The 700℃ cartridge heater with qualified quality usually uses Incoloy 800, Inconel 600 or imported Ingle material as the shell. These materials have excellent high-temperature resistance, and their surface can withstand high temperature up to 1000℃, which can ensure stable operation at 700℃ for a long time. In addition, the thickness of the shell also needs to be paid attention to. Too thin shell will easily lead to local overheating, while too thick shell will affect heat conduction efficiency. Generally, the shell thickness of 700℃ cartridge heater is controlled between 0.8-1.2mm, which can balance high-temperature resistance and heat conduction performance.

The internal structure and core components of the 700℃ cartridge heater also directly affect its quality and service life. The resistance wire is the core heating component, and the nickel-chromium alloy (Cr20Ni80) or iron-chromium-aluminum alloy (0Cr27Al7Mo2) with high temperature resistance and corrosion resistance is usually selected. These materials have stable resistance value and are not easy to burn out under high temperature conditions. The insulating filler uses high-purity high-temperature magnesium oxide powder, which has good insulation and heat conduction performance. It should be noted that the filling density of magnesium oxide powder is very important. If the filling is not dense enough, the resistance wire may settle after long-term vibration and thermal cycle, leading to local overheating and burnout. The qualified 700℃ cartridge heater will go through strict compaction process during production to ensure that the magnesium oxide powder is filled densely and evenly.

The power and surface load of the 700℃ cartridge heater also need to be matched with the actual working conditions. Many enterprises blindly pursue high power, thinking that higher power means better heating effect. In fact, the power of the cartridge heater should be determined according to the volume of the heated object, the required heating time and the ambient temperature. If the power is too high, it will cause energy waste and local overheating; if the power is too low, it will fail to reach the required temperature, affecting production efficiency. The surface load of the 700℃ cartridge heater is generally controlled between 5-7W/cm², which is a more reasonable range. This surface load can ensure that the heater can generate sufficient heat without overheating, and effectively extend its service life. In addition, the voltage of the cartridge heater should also be consistent with the on-site power supply. Common voltages include 110V, 220V and 380V. Choosing the wrong voltage will directly lead to the heater not working normally or being burned out.

In addition, when choosing a 700℃ cartridge heater, it is also necessary to pay attention to the production process and quality inspection standards of the product. The qualified cartridge heater will go through strict quality inspection before leaving the factory, including insulation resistance test, withstand voltage test and high-temperature performance test, to ensure that there are no quality problems such as leakage and unstable heating. Some low-quality products cut corners in the production process, use inferior materials and skip quality inspection, which is easy to cause failures in the process of use. To sum up, choosing a suitable 700℃ cartridge heater requires comprehensive consideration of shell material, internal components, power, surface load and other factors, and avoiding the pitfall of only focusing on price and ignoring quality. For different industrial scenarios, professional program design and product selection guidance are needed to ensure that the cartridge heater can play its best performance and reduce production risks.
