Walk onto our second production floor these days and you'll find the team busy working through a sizable order for a German packaging equipment manufacturer. All 1,800 cartridge heaters are currently at the resistance wire winding stage - a critical step where precision directly determines heater performance and lifespan.
The client, based in Stuttgart, builds automated packaging lines for food and pharmaceutical companies across Europe. Their machines run around the clock, six days a week, so reliability isn't just a nice-to-have - it's a contractual requirement. That's why they came to us. They'd been sourcing heaters from a local German supplier for years, but after repeated failures in their sealing stations, they started looking further afield and found our track record in industrial heating elements.
Each heater in this order is 10mm in diameter and 80mm long, rated at 230V and 300W. What's special about these is the internal winding pattern. We're using a carefully calculated non-uniform winding distribution to compensate for heat loss at the cold end, ensuring the active heating zone maintains a temperature uniformity of ±2°C across its entire length. For packaging machines that seal thermoplastic films, even a small temperature variation can mean the difference between a perfect seal and a rejected package.
Our production supervisor, who has been with the company for over 15 years, personally set up the winding parameters for this batch. He's particularly meticulous with German orders - he knows their engineers will measure everything down to the millimeter and won't hesitate to send the whole batch back if something is off. So far, the in-process checks are all coming back within spec.
The order also includes custom-built terminal housings made of heat-resistant ceramic, designed to withstand the 250°C operating temperature of the sealing station. We sourced the ceramic components from a specialist supplier in Jiangsu, and our assembly team will integrate them once the winding and MgO filling are complete.
